Well known author, motivational speaker, and consultant Anthony Robbins recently wrote an article
detailing the importance of dietary supplements. Robbins dissected the significance of these
supplements by asking the question: do we really need some form of nutritional
supplement as part of our daily diet? Further, can the addition of dietary supplements help to stop
the signs of aging?
Drawing his response from the Mayo Clinic (a well respected authority on the importance of
healthy diets), Robbins determined that not only do most people need supplements...but, many people
are missing out on healthy lifestyles when they neglect to take a dietary supplement.
The fact is that quality dietary supplements contain many helpful nutrients including
calcium, iron, zinc, and the essential vitamins B-12 and D. Thus anyone that does not get
these vitamins and nutrients on a regular basis should be taking some form of daily dietary
supplement.
So, how many people need to include a dietary supplement into their
diet? Well, according to the AMA (American Medical Association) a mere twenty to
thirty percent of the population actually ingests the right amounts of vitamins and nutrients every
day.
What does any of this have to do with your skin? Believe it or not,
when you neglect to get your essential vitamins and nutrients, your skin suffers. Since it’s
incredibly difficult to increase the amount of vegetables and fruits that you eat per day, the best
way to gain the nutrients that you need is to take a dietary supplement. As soon as you begin to
include a dietary supplement in your diet, your skin care regimen will begin to make a difference.
Every day, we eat things without thinking about how they will change our skin’s appearance.
Junk foods, foods that don’t contain any vitamins or nutrients, and foods that are high in
sugar will dull the skin causing it to age.
If you don’t have the time to completely reform your diet, make sure that you
are taking Anthony Robbins’ advice: purchase a quality dietary supplement. Not
only will this supplement ensure that your body gets all the energy and fighting power that it
needs, your skin will also look younger as a result.
Trying to stop the signs of aging can be difficult. However, knowing a bit about the foods that
you eat will make this process easier. Even if you never believed in dietary supplements before, consider
some of the facts listed above – a mere 20 to 30 percent of people get enough
vitamins and minerals...that’s a very small percentage of the entire
American population.
Eating the foods that you need should be your goal. Still, when you can’t get the nutrients
and vitamins that you need through food, you must include a dietary supplement. Eating well will
stop the signs of aging far before your skin begins to sag and droop. Adding a dietary supplement to
your daily diet is easy enough, so why not give your body the nutrients that it needs? Remember,
when it comes to your skin...you are what you eat.
