Many people who are aware of the importance of collagen to our skin health, particularly as we
age, are asking how to naturally produce collagen in our skin. Because the aging process causes us
to lose collagen, and the loss of collagen in our skin is one of the major factors in skin wrinkles.
And in the formation of lines, crows feet around our eyes and mouth and a general look of poor skin
health.
Unfortunately skin science hasn't been able to find a way to stop our skin losing
collagen as we age, and so modern skin care is turning it's attention to replacing the lost
collagen. And naturally producing collagen in the skin is the most successful way to replace that
lost collagen.
At first glance it would seem that the best way to replace lost collagen
would be to just add collagen to those bottles of anti aging skin care products that you see on the
shelves of our local store, like those anti aging creams, moisturizers, night creams and so on. If
there is collagen in the cream then when we put it on our face it goes in, and replaces the lost
collagen. What could be simpler?
And that's exactly the approach that the big brand name
skin care companies take with their skin care products. They add collagen to the product. And they
add elastin too, because the loss of elastin is also just about as much to blame for all those
wrinkles and lines as the loss of collagen. And we lose elastin as we age just like we lose collagen
as we age.
So if you see a bottle of skin care product on the shelves it has to be good
if it has collagen and elastin in it, right? Wrong.
You see, unfortunate though it is,
simply adding collagen and elastin to a product doesn't actually work to replace lost collagen and
elastin in the skin. It would be wonderful if it could replace them, but it doesn't.
Why?
Because both collagen and elastin are very large molecules, and molecule size is too large to go
into the skin. So they stay on the surface and get wiped off somehow, maybe by your pillow.
Now you may be wondering why those big brands have collagen, and elastin, listed on the labels of
all those bottles of skin care and anti aging products if they don't actually do anything. Good
question. And the answer has everything to do with marketing.
You see consumers will buy
skin care products with collagen and elastin listed on the label. And if consumers will buy the
product then the collagen and elastin has done it's job, even if it hasn't actually helped prevent
any wrinkles on the face, or anywhere else.
But one small niche skincare company has
recognised this problem and asked itself how to naturally produce collagen protein in the skin as a
way of overcoming this problem. If you can stimulate the skin to naturally produce collagen itself
then the problem is overcome, and there's no need to put collagen in the bottles of skin care
products.
And they've been very succesful, using a product called Cynergy TK, made by a
very small New Zealand company. Cynergy TK is an extremely expensive ingredient that can be put into
top shelf skincare products. It uses a unique form of keratin, a skin protein, that actually
stimulates the skin to start regrowing it's own skin cells and to naturally produce collagen in the
skin.
Trials have been extremely successful, with visible results within a month.
So if you're wondering about how to naturally produce collagen in your skin, there is a way.
Just applying a face cream with collagen in it won't do it, but using a product that helps the skin
repair itself and naturally produce it's own collagen will do it.
