You have probably heard this before – “People buy from people, not companies”.
It’s true; people tend to do business with people they know and trust, rather than with
strangers. So how can people get to know you over the Internet? After all, the Internet is a big
place.
The answer is by having your own blog.
Blogging is a powerful way to develop “You, The Brand”. With a blog you can make it
personal – tell your story in your own words. Make it easy for people to get to know you and
your business.
Here are 5 blogging tips.
1. Newsletter: Have a place on your blog for your visitors to opt-in to a newsletter.
2. Reason to opt-in: Offer a free consultation or a copy of an e-book to anyone who
opts-in to your newsletter. Napoleon Hills “Think and Grow Rich” is a great e-book to
offer your subscribers.
3. Be You: As I said previously, make it personal. Write about why you started a home
business, what your goals are, what works for you and what doesn’t. What you are doing
today.
4. Back Links: Be sure you are linking keywords in your blog to your lead capture page or
a sales page. Use your blog to help increase your lead capture page in the search engine
rankings.
5. Your Niche Market: Whatever your niche market is, you want to visit your competitions
blogs and websites to see what they are doing. You especially want to see what the top ten sites are
doing. Don’t copy them, but this will give you ideas for your own blogs content. Post content
on your blog frequently, at least three times a week.
You shouldn’t expect to see thousands of visitors immediately, but by posting regular,
quality content the search engines will find you and start sending significant traffic to your
blog.
