It is easy to become overwhelmed when learning new marketing skills and trying to get your
new home based business started. Staying focused will be a challenge, your life is
about to get more complicated. There will be times when you only have a few minutes to yourself. You
will have to find a way to move forward with your business, even if it’s only reviewing what
you already accomplished. It is so important to take action every day.
Take action are the two words you must tell yourself every day. Starting a new home
based business in order to make additional income from home will be a lot easier if you take
action every day. You know where you are now and you know where you want to be, that is why you took
on this new opportunity. So let’s explore a few ways to stay focused.
1. Create a to do list
Every night make a list of what you must accomplish tomorrow, or this week if you are on a lay
back schedule. Slow and steady every day you must do something. If you have a large task that you
have been putting off, break it down into bite size pieces, and get it done. When you have completed
a large task take the time to reward yourself and enjoy your accomplishment.
2. Time Management
Schedule your time; choose a task that you will accomplish tomorrow. Then schedule a time in
your busy day to get it done. Don’t move on to the next task until you have done a good job on
the previous one. Stay focused an each task until it is done and done right.
3. Setting Goals
There is nothing better to help stay focused and keeping you on track then setting goals.
Visualize where you want to be in 30 days, 60 days, and 90 days. Be realistic and don’t make
the goals unattainable be fair to yourself, but don’t be too easy either. If you really want
to stay focused put a dollar value on your goals.
- Take Action
Take action everyday. There will be days when you may have to be creative. For example if
commuting by car is a significant part of your day, you can turn your car into a university by
getting training tapes and cds to motivate and educate yourself. If housework is taking too much of
your time then get your spouse and children to pitch in, after all they will be benefiting from your
addition income. Now you can channel your extra time into your home based business.
