These days a large number of elderly and disabled people are opting for electric mobility scooters. An electric mobility scooter is run on sealed lead rechargeable batteries. Although they are still a new trend, they are soon to become a real rage, the reason being their easy usability coupled with low maintenance and running costs.

Earlier, electric mobility scooters were not very popular because they were supported by batteries that didn't last long. But, with the advent of technology in the batteries, these scooters are now able to cover longer distances without repeated recharges.

There are various types of electric mobility scooters available like- Petite scooters, Foldable mobility scooters, Scooters with oxygen holders, Heavy duty electric power scooters and three and four wheel electric scooters. All these types have various features to their credit which make them useful in one way or the other.

The several convenient features included on the electric scooters include flexible tiller, rotating seats, carriers and alike. While flexible tillers help steer the vehicle in every direction possible, rotating seat offers the user to move in any direction he wants. Carriers allow the rider to carry any other utility along.

The electric mobility scooters come in two basic types- the foldable ones and the utility ones. While the foldable version can be easily dismantled and folded, the utility version is a much sleeker option that is useful for larger distances.

As for their costs, these scooters are a bit expensive in comparison to gas run scooters. But, once you purchase them they have very low running costs. However, if it is your doctor who has prescribed one for you then you could recover its cost from your insurance provider.

If you are out to buy an electric mobility scooter for yourself or one of your near ones, then Ranger Scooters is a name that you can rely upon. Rangers has been known to provide all kinds of quality scooters including, three and four wheel electric scooters and solo electric scooters for people of all weights.

Thus, there are a lot of options available for helping the disabled move freely. Apart from electric mobility scooters, people are increasingly opting for aids like power lift chairs, wheelchair ramp, and lightweight wheelchairs. Therefore, commuting and locomotion is no more a problem for physically challenged.

The various benefits that an electric mobility scooter could offer are- it helps you move freely inside and outside the house. It helps you get back to the activities that you had left long back. You feel more independent and there increasing demand has led to a reduction in their prices as well.

So, get home on an electric mobility scooter and get back to your own ways of life!
