It hasn't been that long ago that reciprocal linking was a popular way to create back links to
your site. Today you can concentrate on building one way back links to your site through blogging
and social bookmarking. As a matter of fact using social bookmarks to create traffic to your site
is a fantastic thing to do.
If you're not aware of what social bookmarking is it something that you should get up to date on.
If all you are doing is blogging and pinging then you are shortchanging yourself and potential
business and visitors to your blog.
We all know the blogging
is very simple to do. You just set down and type in your thoughts into a page and click publish.
The blogging platform instantly builds a page for you, which is much easier than the old website
building HTML days.
One of the main reasons that blogging is so effective is because it allows you to just list your
thoughts. A really effective blog comes across as a conversation between two people.
Blogging does take a little bit of time, but you don't have to pay to do it. If you don't like to
write you can hire a writer to
write blog articles for you, or use PLR articles about your nich
and re-write them, but we like to say if you can talk you can blog.
This is a little bit about blogging, but how do you get people to your page to begin with? One of
the best ways to do that is to social bookmark your blog posts after you make them.
If this is extremely easy to do and many people would do it if they understood it better. You can
make social bookmarking as easy as you want.
For example, WordPress offers a plug in that can be installed at the bottom of each of your blog
posts. You can click on a drop down menu which will bring up a list of social directories that you
bookmark your post too.
You click on the icon for that specific directory and then just fill in the information that they
require. In many cases it will automatically have the blog URL listed for you. All you do is paste
in a short summary and list a couple of tag words and click submit.
The benefits of this is that search engines spider social and directories much more often than
they will your own blog. By bookmarking your post you are creating a back link from that directory
to your blog.
Search engines can find it and then rank your blog post giving you search engine traffic. Readers
can find this link and click on it and read the whole article at your blog directly. The more of
these back links you have the more potential traffic your blog will receive.
