How To Do Email Marketing The Right Way?

Email Marketing is one of the most efficient ways to market a product or a service. However, email marketing can be a bit tricky because it can be difficult to avoid sending SPAM. Even if you are innocently sending an email, it can be marked as SPAM and does not do good things for the reputation of your business. There is also the fact that you really want to get the attention of your prospects. You don't want them to read the first part of your email and then delete it; or they may just delete it without even opening. You want them to keep their eyes on the page and get the most out of what it is you're telling them. So how do you do all of this? How do you effectively initiate a marketing campaign that is really going to make a difference in your business?

Generating Leads

The right way to get leads (or prospects) is through opt-in lists. This means the individual is going to give you permission to send them emails. You can create opt-in lists by doing the following:

  • You can put an area on each webpage that allows individuals to opt-in with their name and email address. To get them to this point, you need to market your webpage. You also want to place opt-in forms on any blogs or other web pages that you may own on the internet. This increases your exposure.
  • Always use an autoresponder to respond to your emails. When someone emails you at certain email addresses, you want to have an autoresponder that tells them how much you appreciate the fact they opted into receiving emails from you. This is so they realize what they have done. It is also important that you have an area at the bottom of the autoresponder email that gives them the chance to opt-out if they registered without realizing what they were doing. This does happen. It doesn't happen often, but it does.
  • Start a referral program. Reward your prospects when they send someone your way and that person signs up to be on your list. You can reward them with something as simple as an eBook with valuable information or with coupons or gift certificates that they can use with your business.

As you can see, there are plenty of ways in which you can create leads. Creating opt-in leads means you're going to be able to avoid SPAM. SPAM is when you send a soliciting email to a person who did not sign up to receive that email. This is how your email can be ignored and how you can hurt your business's reputation.

Promote Your Landing Page

To get these individuals to opt-in, you have to promote your landing page (also referred as squeeze page). If you don't promote your landing page, they're not going to know that you exist. Luckily, your landing page is going to help you build your leads while your autoresponder takes care of responding and marketing to them. Your autoresponder will even send out emails when you tell it to. That way you don't have to stop the promotion of your landing page to send emails to your list. What you'll find is that you can be extremely profitable by doing email marketing the right way. You also won't have to worry about being flagged as SPAM, which means the reputation of your business will be fine.
