Time is probably the hardest thing to provide our kids these days. We spend too much time away
working so we can give them all the things they need and all the things they want. It is so easy for
us to forget that we are failing to give them something that they need from us, as well: our
attention.
Thankfully, there are ways that can help increase the likelihood of our children not engaging in
unhealthy habits without our supervision. Giving them something that enjoy doing like suggesting a
hobby is a great way to teach them the lessons of life and pervent them from doing something they'll
come to regret when they are older.
Hobbies are an excellent way to bond with our children and to give our children healthier options
when it comes to using their time away fro school or chores. It is a simple and proven fact that
keeping them distracted with something that you're confident they're enjoying is a sure way for you
to focus on your career yet rest assured that your kids aren't doing what they are not supposed to
be doing.
You can suggest great past times to your children and watch them develop skills that you know could
and would help them with their future lives as an adult. It teaches discipline and patience and it
also gives them immediate rewards about the lessons that they learn. Because while they're enjoying
themselves with something they find fun, they're also seeing slowly how their own products are
becoming better and better everyday.
Hobbies also teach children how to appreciate the products of their own hard work and so it
increases the lieklihood that they will keep on doing it and become better at it. Of course, this is
a stage that could possibly be filled with a lot of tears and frustrations so make sure that you are
always there to provide the support necessary during these times.
It's very depressing that we are losing the values that helped shape the way our nation has become
today. But it doesn't always have to be that way. With a little nudge from us parents, and a little
effort we can raise our children the way that they should be raised.
