To unleash boundless energy in your life alongwith good luck, health and prosperity, you must consult the ancient science of feng shui. Feng shui is a powerful art to bring vitality and energy in ones life.

How much of these assumptions could be true? Could de-cluttering your business, rearranging your home bring luck and prosperity? Feng shui is so over hyped, if one could describe it that way, it makes you wonder if these claims hold true or the feng shui item you recently purchased for your home real or fake.

Lets discuss Jade as an example. It is commonly used in Asian homes, so does it have those powers? How can feng shui and Jade change your life? Lets review how and why Feng shui and Jade came to be associated. And does it really work?

The History of Jade and Feng Shui Applications

It is certainly true that jade is very popular as a gemstone in Asia, particularly in Chinese culture. Jade was very abundant in past centuries and could easily be shaped and carved as desired due to its softness relative to other gemstones.

Jade and feng shui were not always intertwined and you will find no mention of jade in ancient texts dealing with the practice of feng shui. Feng shui in fact does not ascribe special properties to jade. Nonetheless, there is no mistaking the degree to which this gem is prized in Chinese culture.

According to Chinese history, jade has been as valuable as gold and diamonds for the west. The art and culture describe jade as an important metal. It came to be used variedly from fine objects and cult figures to grave furnishings for members of the imperial family.

Jade and Feng Shui Come to the West

When the practice of feng shui began to be introduced to western cultures, it was easy for it to become adulterated, as there were always unscrupulous persons looking to make some easy money from those who didnt know any better. They realized that they could convince any westerner of the healing powers of jade and feng shui, and these unsuspecting persons would rather easily believe them. Jade was known for being a very important element in Chinese culture, as was feng shui, and it was easy for some to believe that the two were intertwined.

As mentioned above, feng shui actually does not consider jade to have healing properties or any other special characteristics. Jade is considered to be a metal element and as such may be used in a decoration in the interests of introducing that element to a room, but its importance to the practice of feng shui begins and ends there.
