Looks are important in our society. Many men and women have hair they want to eliminate. Let's
see how they go about getting this hair off.
This is a basic list of hair removal methods: shaving, waxing, plucking, creams, electrolysis, and
laser. Some of these methods are old fashioned., others are cutting edge. Let's see what these are
all about.
Get out the razors. Shaving is the most basic hair removal method. The problem is that it never
ends, hairs are back in a day, and you start all over.
Waxing involves spreading a thin wax over the hair to be removed. Paper or cloth is pressed onto the
wax and then quickly ripped of, against the direction of the growing hair. This pulls out the hairs
with the wax.
Taking out the tweezers and yanking hairs out by the roots is another option. This can hurt too.
Pulling hairs out one at a time can take forever.
Lotions use substances that dissolve the hair all the way under the skin. These chemicals can be
rough on your skin. You can develop skin rashes and cuts.
The most permanent method is electrolysis. Individual follicles are destroyed through this
procedure. It can hurt quite a bit.
Electrolysis takes multiple treatments to get the desired results. This takes many months and is
quite expensive too. If you can get through the process the results can be good.
Finally, the latest advancement is laser hair removal. Laser hair removal can claim permanent hair
"reduction". Although it isn't as complete as electrolysis it has a few major advantages.
You can do a treatment in less than ten minutes, if working on a small area, like the upper lip. You
can do large areas in under an hour, like your legs. Treatments lead to permanent hair reduction.
Laser techniques are improving. They already are the preferred option. In time I feel the laser will
rule this industry.
